Dhaka Premier League 2012-13 to start on 3rd July, 2013

Mashrafe Mortaza celebrates a wicketStarting of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2012-13 has been rescheduled again. The country’s most foremost one day competition will be now commenced on 3rd July, 2013 instead of 1st July, 2013 as had been announced earlier. All players recruitment programme has also been pushed back by two days and it will take place on 23rd June, 2013.

Jalal Yunus, Chairman of Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM), said: “We are in the process of finalizing the by-laws of the tournament.  We want to make sure that every detail is in place and hence the slight delay in starting the League. We also needed the extra time to make all the arrangements for the new player recruitment method that is being introduced this season.”

The Dhaka Premier Division League is likely to be recognized as a List A tourney from the 2012-13 season as the event’s authority the Bangladesh Cricket Board is contemplating awarding official status to the competition as it is currently the highest level domestic limited overs tournament.
