Prior to this, the ‘A’ team has lost five practice matches.
Thursday (tomorrow) is their second ODI match.
After losing the toss at Bristol County ground, the Lions went to bat and made a huge total of 353 runs while losing only 4 wickets. However, they had started the innings slow; on 29th over the score was 112/3.
On the fourth wicket, Gary Ballance and Luke Wright’s partnership of 225 runs of just 121 balls which helped the Lions go over three hundred runs.
Wright has hammered a brilliant knock of 143 runs of just 68 balls, where he hit 10 huge sixes and 11 fours. Ballance was not far behind. His 115 runs of 89 balls comprised of 4 sixes and 10 boundaries.
The end of Lion’s innings marked the end of qualms about the end result. The worries of ‘A’ team increased when AnamulHaque, the century hitter of previous match, departed in just the 2nd ball of the innings.
After that captain Jahurul Islam (36), Marshall Ayub (28), ShamsurRahman (19) and at the end MominulHaque (25) tried to carry the team forward, at least into a respectful defeat. However their efforts went in vein when the last four wickets fell for just two runs, causing the ‘A’ team a shameful defeat.
