The Bangladesh Under 19 defeated the England Development Programme (EDP) U17s squad in a rain interrupted warm up match on the Brockington pitch at Loughborough University yesterday (Friday). The EDP U17s won the toss and decided to bat. They were all out for 204 in the last over with Bangladesh Under 19 left arm spinner Rahatul Ferdous taking five wickets. In reply the Bangladesh Under 19s were in trouble as they slipped to 74 for five in the 21st over before an unbroken stand of 113 between wicketkeeper Jasim Uddin and Nazmul Hossain put them back on track. Jasim Uddin was unbeaten on 54 and Nazmul was 41 not out when rain brought an early close to the match. Bangladesh Under 19 were 187 for five in 42 overs at that stage.
The match represents the only warm up for the tourists prior to their triangular series with England and Pakistan U19s.
