The Bangladesh Cricket Board President Mr. Nazmul Hasan Papon yesterday told to the media about the remaining payment of cricketers from franchises in the last Bangladesh Premier League. The boss of BCB informed media that instead of much reminder franchises have not paid the residue payment of the Cricketers. He said, “We are going to give all the franchises a last chance to give the payment as per contract. We have sent legal notices to them and we will take strict actions against the franchises who will not respond to it properly.”
“We took decision in our last board meeting that we will pay at least 25% of the total money to the local cricketers before Eid. BCB is co-operating to arrange BPL in full extent. But it is very unfortunate when local & foreign players, media, everyone blame BCB for mismanagement. So we will not tolerate it anymore.”
BCB president warned franchises that if they will not pay the money as per contract they will lose their ownership. ‘We will pay the money by selling those franchises & if it would necessary BCB will organize BPL.’- he added.
BCB president told that in the next calendar year they will give highest priority to organize Premier Division Cricket League. He said, ‘I’m hopeful about starting the Premier League in the last announced date. We are now giving priority to the Dhaka League’.
He also informed that in the next working day BCB will send letters to NSC about starting the election procedure of the board.
