ICC wants Fatullah to host T20 World Cup 2014

ICC visited fatullah stadiumBangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has sent proposal to International Cricket Council (ICC) for accepting the ‘Khan Shaheb Osman Ali’ stadium in Fatulla, Narayangonj as the main venue for upcoming T20 World Cup.

The ICC representative team has visited the stadium today (Monday) and they will give their decision in this regard within next seven days- said BCB president Mr. Nazmul Hasan Papon M.P. ICC representatives examined all the facilities of this stadium for long hours. The dressing rooms, outer ground, main field, media room, press box and flood lights are all under their inspection.

The observer team members include- event manager Chris Tetley, director of the tournament Dhiraj Malhotra, consultant Uren Uzine and peach specialist At kin Sen. Member of managerial committee Mr. Mahbub Anam, Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan, Dr. Ismail Hossain Mollick, Media manager Rabid Imam, Akbar Hossain of media committee were present on behalf of the board.

BCB president later informed the media that ‘Khan Shaheb Osman Ali’ stadium was among the alternative venues but now we have proposed it as a main venue and ICC is supposed to consider the matter.

About the BCB’s election Mr. Hasan said, “Some people are trying to ruin the election but we want it to be held in time. Measures will be taken against corrupted persons after the election. We will reveal their cases if necessary”.

BCB officials expressed expectations the whole project will be finished within a short time.
