Bangladesh Under-23 team could manage a single win against Singapore before eliminated from the ACC emerging cup’s group phase. In Thursday’s match young tigers were defeated by Arab Emirates in a huge margin of 59 runs. They also lost the match against Sri Lanka by 62 runs earlier.
Youth’s skipper Mahmudul Hasan elected to field first after winning the toss in Padang. Opener Shaiman Anwar scored a hundred (100 off 135 balls with 9 fours) as Emirates ended in a modest score of 202. Spinner Nur Hossain took 3 for 31 in 10 over’s.
In reply Bangladesh started well enough to raise the expected victory. They reached 133 for 3 by the help of Maishukur and Shummo’s strong batting performances. They scored 34 and 30 respectively. Bangladesh lost their last seven wickets for a paltry 10 runs.
Emirates spinner Nasir Azis destroyed the young tiger’s batting taking 5 wickets for 17 runs bowling 7 over’s.
