Question: You have been served for long time in the domestic cricket. How do you feel about this innings?
Shamsur Rahman: I can say, it is one of the best innings of my career definitely. I was getting out in the fifties. It was frustrating enough. I thought about it for long time, talked to the seniors and coaches. I am feeling fine now that finally I became successful.
Question: You are definitely feeling better of getting big innings in such a prestigious match?
Shamsur: Oh sure it is. Abahoni versus Mohammedan is always prestigious contest. It is the biggest battle in domestic cricket. Doing something good in these matches surely enhances the confidence level.
Question: It was not that easy to chase a big total like 282 runs in such a big contest. What is your plan initially?
Shamsur: It was of course not easy to chase. Moreover, they bowled well in the initial overs. At the first phase the wicket was wet, the ball got stopped, and then it became easy gradually. I had a plan to stay till the end.
Question: How it felt when Muktar was failing to score in the last over?
Shamsur: it was not wise to play up to the last ball. Cricket is a game of uncertainty; anything could happen in such a pressurized situation. Anyway, we have to say that we were lucky enough at that occasion.
Question: Everyone was watching the game. How much could you attract the attention of national selectors?
Shamsur: Well, scoring runs is always important to me wherever I play. I just want to continue playing my own game. If I will do well enough, chances of playing in the national level will automatically come.
Question: Tell us about the contribution of fitness training of national camp?
Shamsur: Yes, of course. Fitness level has lot of contributions behind my performances. Every cricketer of the camp has benefitted from it. For me, my fitness is now in ideal level for long time batting. Everyone in the camp is fit now.
