Styris leads Gazi Tank to victory

Scott Styris was man of the match!Kiwi all rounder Scott Styris scored a century for Gazi Tank Cricketers as they defeated Cricket Coaching School (CCS) by 5 wickets. After this match, Gazi Tank is in third position in the point table earning six points in four matches.

CCS gathered 255 runs for 7 wickets after choosing to bat first in Mirpur Sher-E-Bangla stadium Tuesday. Salman Hossain scored highest 73 runs in 113 balls with 7 fours. Sri Lankan Jihan Rupasinghe scored the second highest 46 runs more dramatically with 7 fours and 4 sixes. Spinner Arafat Sunny took 3/50 for Gaji Tank.

Regular captain of Gaji Tank Cricketers Mahmudullah Riyad couldn’t play the match due to high fever. Imrul Kayes led the team in place of Mahmudullah.

Experienced Kiwi all rounder Scott Styris build a strong partnership of 122 runs with the acting skipper Imrul Kayes (54) and guided Gaji Tank up to 190/3.

Styris did 102 runs in just 119 balls with 9 fours and a six. In later part of the match, an unbeaten partnership of 68 runs between Hamidul Islam (23*) and Rakibul (58*) helped Gaji Tank to reach the victory margin.

Off spinner Asif Ahmed took 2/47 for CCS.
