After nearly five years, Zimbabwe returned to test rankings and jumped over Bangladesh. Bangladesh is at tenth position and Zimbabwe at ninth.
Zimbabwe has drawn the two test series against Pakistan, which also caused the ratings of Pakistan to go down. They have gone down from fourth to sixth position.
On wining the last match against Pakistan, Zimbabwe’s rating has gone up to 34 points. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s rating point is only at 10, and Pakistan is at 97.
However, even if the Zimbabweans had lost the series to Pakistan, they would have climbed up in 9th position above Bangladesh.
They had pulled out of Test cricket in January 2006 and returned with a series against Bangladesh in August 2011, but could not find a place on the rankings table until now having not played the requisite eight qualifying Tests.
