Saber Hossain Chowdhury, the former BCB president is not going to participate in the poll because of the anticipation of contempt to the court. Therefore, the election that’s going to get on the way is literally a one-horse race. So it’s quite apparent that the election is going to be an all ‘Nazmul Hasan Papon’ election. The counselors who are directly or indirectly supporting Papon, 38 of them have submitted the nomination paper regarding the director’s post. The nomination papers were collected by 43 counselors.
The tussle of talks between former national skipper Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu and the CWAB (Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh) secretary Debabrata Paul rather created zeal in the cricket fraternity yesterday. Debrorto came down heavily on Lipu for being indifferent to the cricketers welfare whereas Lipu counterattacked Debabrato that, “everyone should look at his own face in the mirror.”
This is still under the question mark whether there will be any kind of contest in the election on October 10 it can be assured after the last date of withdrawing the nomination paper of 7th October. Amongst the 38 nomination papers submitted 21 papers were submitted from category 2 , 14 from category one and 3 from category 3. Category two papers were submitted against 12 posts, category one for 10 and category 3 papers were submitted against 1 post.
Many started to whisper that, there is going to be an ‘arranged’ contest since all the people taking part in the election seems to be the visible supporters of Papon. However, it has been confirmed that everything is now under control of the Papon men.
