One of the most fearsome pacers of the world at a time, Shane Bond’s fluent cricket career ended few years back by tenacious injuries. Now he became the bowling coach of his team. In a press briefing yesterday, Bond threatened that his bowlers have the target to destroy Bangladesh by their pace though the wicket do not seem to be so helpful for the pacers.
Bond had a talk with journalists in Chittagong’s Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, “I think our bowlers will be successful though the wicket seems slow and low. My advice to the pacers is to bowl quick, short pitched deliveries.”
“Tests are going to be happened in hot weather and in flat wickets. Our team members stayed in Sri Lanka several days ago to get adjustment in such conditions. We will play in aggressive approach. But anyway the series is going to be tough surely.”
Shane Bond showed quite respect to the home team saying, “Bangladesh is a tough opponent in their own soil. There are some good cricketers in their team. The spin department is also strong.”
Another kiwi all rounder Scott Styris is playing in the domestic league for Gazi Tank cricketers. Bond informed that Styris gave them some information about wickets and some of the cricketers over here.”
He also said, “We are working on the strengths and weaknesses of Bangladesh batsmen. Some of their playing styles are more or less similar. We have specific plans for them. In order to implement our plans we have to plot the ball in right places.”
