Ahead of their month-long bilateral series against New Zealand from later this month, Bangladesh national cricket team’s ten-day conditioning camp in Sydney is slated to come to an end on Saturday. If everything goes as per planned, the 23-member Bangladesh preliminary squad will move to New Zealand on Sunday (December 18). (নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুন: কাল নিউ জিল্যান্ডে যাচ্ছে টাইগাররা)
During their conditioning camp in Sydney, Tigers have had some bitter-sweet memories in the two tour games they played against Big Bash League (BBL) teams Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder. In the first match against Sydney Sixers, which turned out to be a rain-affected one, a Mashrafe Bin Mortaza-led BCB XI won by 7 wickets as per the D/L method. However, luck didn’t favour the tourists in the second game, as they conceded a 6-wicket defeat at the hands of current BBL champions Sydney Thunder.
Upon their arrival in New Zealand, the Tigers will get more or less a week’s time to prepare them. They will also play a warm-up match against a local side. Though New Zealand Cricket (NZC) have already announced the 13-man squad for the ODI series, Bangladesh are yet to name their squad. The first ODI will be held on December 26, while the next two are penned for December 29 and 31. Then the Tigers will also play three T20Is and two Tests against the Black Caps.
