Al Amin’s performance put Prime Bank in top

Prime Bank Cricket Club has captured the fifth win in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL) against Legends of Rupganj. Rupganj has been defeated by Prime Bank in a comprehensive margin of 66 runs in BKSP fourth-field on Saturday.

Pakistani batsman Rafatullah Mohammed and right-handed pacer Al-Amin Hossain led Prime Bank on the way to the victory.

Prime Bank captain Mehedi Maruf decided to bat first after winning the toss. Batted at number three right-arm spinner Rafatullah Mohammed scored 128 runs from 125 balls.

Prime Bank got a huge collection of 284 runs by virtue of his excellent batting. In reply, Rupganj was bowled out for 218 runs.

The right handed pacer Al-Amin, has taken five wickets, who has been dropped from the central contract of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Rupganj lost their four top order batsmen in 13 against the target of 285 runs. Al-Amin hit in the first over in Rupganj camp. Opener Ezaz Ahmed returned to the dressing room after being caught by the wicketkeeper Zakir Hassan off Al-Amin’s bowling when the team score was just 4.

Then Hasanuzzaman and Mahmudul Hasan was sent into the pavillion by another pacer Nahidul Islam.

Right-handed Indian batsman Jalaj Saxena was sent by Al-Amin as his second wicket.

All-rounder Nayeem Islam who tried to turn back his team with Yasir Alir was bowled by left-arm spinner Nazmul Apu for 66 runs.

In the seventh wicket, Captain Mosharraf Hossain Rubel and Naeem Islam’s 66-run partnership could have seen possibility of saving the match. But Musharraf Rubel was caught in Ariful’s hand by Rafatullah after scoring 42 runs in 63 balls.

The last attempt was made by Mohammad Sharif and Nayeem Islam. But Al-Amin took two wickets in two overs, that made Rupganj dragged down the last chance of winning.

Nayeem was bowled by Al-Amin in 95 run mark. After this, Shahin Hossain bowled by this right hand pacer who captured five wickets for the first time in DPL.

Besides, Nahidul and Nazmul took two wickets each for Prime Bank. Rafatullah got one wicket.

Earlier in the first innings, Prime Bank lost their two openers Mehdi Maruf and Nahidul Islam early. Rafatullah took control of the innings after scoring 128 runs from 125 balls.

Asif Ahmed scored 47 runs for the team as the second highest score. Prime Bank scored 284 runs losing six wickets in 50 overs.

Salman Hossain was unbeaten with 33 runs. Rafatullah was adjudged man of the match for his outstanding 128 runs.

Prime Bank is now on top of the point table for winning five matches consecutively.

On the other hand, Legends of Rupganj won 3 matches among 5 and in fifth position.

Nazmul Islam Sharkar
