After losing the toss, Kings XI Punjab were asked to bat first by Mumbai Indians. Punjab got a fine start. Shuan Marsh and Hashim Amla added 46 runs in the opening stand. After Marsh’s dismissal, Amla came out in fire. He used to charge the bowlers. He brought up his half-century in just 34 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 3 fours. He was joined by Maxwell in the third wicket partnership.
Both of them were playing quick firing knock. Amla smashed 6 sixes and 8 fours to complete his century in just 58 balls. Facing 60 balls he remained unbeaten on 104 runs. Alongside his outstanding batting, Maxwell’s quick firing knock of 40 runs off 18 balls helped Punjab to set a decent target against Mumbai Indians at the Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.
