Australia is lipping closer to reschedule the postponed 2015 tour of Bangladesh. Senior Bangladesh board officials are almost certain that the tour will undergo later this year and Australia is highly probable to play two Test matches instead of one day international that had been claimed earlier.
The prospect of the tour has been raised by Cricket Australia Chief James Sutherland earlier this year. CA official further insisted upon the security issues during the tour.
He said, “We will continue to monitor advice from ASIO, DRAFT and our own security advisors about the security risk of any future tours of the Australian team in Bangladesh and make a decision based on this advice closer to any potential tour.”
But BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed that Australia might not want to play outside Dhaka this time around; and the two Test match series is supposed to take place in the capital city ground.
In October 2015, Australia had been scheduled to play two Test matches and a tour match in Dhaka and Chittagong but the tour was later postponed on security grounds.
