‘Bangladesh is a step ahead than Ireland’ says Soumya Sarkar

The national team opener Soumya Sarkar reckoned Bangladesh is a step ahead of Ireland, the host of the tournament.

On Friday after the match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Prime Bank Limited of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at Fatullah stadium, Soumya said, “We have a good understanding because we played together for a long time. So, we are ahead a step than Ireland.”

National team will play in Champions trophy in England after Ireland. The left hander opener said both the tri – nation and the ICC Champions Trophy are not only important to the national team but also for himself.

The left-handed opener has indicated that he would return to his form after the comparatively successful Sri Lanka tour. He scored 71, 53 and 61 run in Test series and 38 in the last one-day.

He played two T20I and scored 29 and 34 run. These brilliant scores will provide him self-confidence in both Ireland-England.

Soumya, however, is regretted about Sri Lanka tour and said, “I will try to do my job properly. Will also be able to overtake myself. I didn’t play that much well in Sri Lanka and hope to play well in the next tour.”
