Nazmul Karim Tinku, director of Bangladesh Cricket Board, died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday (April 18) at Apollo Hospital in the capital yesterday. He was 58.
Tinku, who is also the chairman of BCB umpires’ committee, was first admitted to Square Hospital with severe food poisoning on Monday from where he was transferred to Apollo Hospital for better treatment as in formed by BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus. A Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at the BCB National Cricket Academy Ground in Mirpur on Wednesday at 10:00am.
Tinku was also the president of Kalabagan thana Awami League and general secretary of Kalabagan Krira Chakra.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), expressed its heartfelt sympathies to his family members and loved ones.
Bangladesh Sports Journalist Association (BSJA) also expressed deep shock over the death of Tinku, said a BSJA press release Tuesday.
