BCCI wants 'Big Three' model working till June

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), in a special general meeting (SGM) unanimously decided to ask International Cricket Council (ICC) to stick to the ‘Big Three’ revenue model until the Annual General Meeting in June.

Amitabh Chowdhury, the General Secretary of BCCI will present the idea in the ICC’s Board meeting to be held in next week in Dubai.

“A resolution has been passed at the SGM that we will ask ICC to carry on with the existing model where Australia, England and India get the lion’s share of revenue” – a top official of BCCI said to Press Trust of India after the meeting.

What they will do next after June will be declared after the annual meeting on June. It was heard that they would put out Indian national team from Champions trophy if the ‘Big Three’ model will not be accepted.

Amitabh said, “The decision will be taken after the board meeting but many men of BCCI have against the put out idea.”

BCCI will face ICC on next week at Dubai and then the decision will be declared.
