China all-out on 28, Saudi Arabia gains 390-run win

Cricket watchers around the globe perhaps would not glance a bit to China playing cricket if they had not recorded the lowest ever total made by any team, thus digested the biggest humiliation in the hands of Saudi Arabia.

In the World Cricket League regional qualifier match at Chiang Mai in Thailand, the Chinese cricket team was bowled out scoring 28 runs in the 50 over match, accepted the 390 run defeat against Saudi Arabia.

The total of 28 runs was 7 runs shorter than Zimbabwe’s total of 35 runs scored against Sri Lanka in 2004 in a full one day international match.

Batting first, Saudi Arabia mounted 418 runs in their 50 overs. Mohammad Afzal scored the 91 ball century.

China, while chasing the runs, collapsed and all their batsmen departed within 12.4 overs scoring 28. The highest score was made by Mr. Extra that was 13. For Saudi Arabia, Shahbaz Rasheed did a hat – trick.

However, Saudi Arabia is considered as the hot favorites to win the title of the tournament
