Meanwhile former cricketers of Bangladesh backed the selectors’ decision reckoning that each captain will have enough time to think and implement the strategies in each version differently.
Former Chief Selector and Captain Faruque Ahmed said, “I think this sort of ideas will bring always bring positive results because all the captains will find ample opportunity to make decisions for each team separately.”
Khaled Masud Pilot, another former captain of Bangladesh also delivered his support in this regard; he pointed out the amount of burden that has been released upon a single captain would definitely bring good results for the team.
“In any bilateral series, matches of every format of the game includes. When a single captain run all three formats, he is burdened with pressure all the time. Involuntary brain storm occurs for the next format games come while the captain is running in another. Now these things will not happen” – said Khaled Masud.
Former pace man Hasibul Hossain Shanto revealed an all different perspective on the matter. He said letting the team led by a single captain often brings autocracy.
“To me, this is a very good step. Playing under different captains remove monotony among performers. They will go through different experiences performing under different skippers. Even captains do not find the scope of being autocratic” – Shanto said.
