The greatest batsman of all time in history of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, was born on this day(24th of April) in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1973. He got married with Anjali Tendulkar in 1995. He has a son and a daughter.
Tendulkar entertains million of Indian cricket fans to the entirety of his two and a half decade long career by holding most batting records including the most runs and most hundreds in Tests and ODIs.
Tendulkar made his international debut in a tour of Pakistan in 1989. On that tour he also made his ODI debut against the same opposition. He played his only T-20 against South Africa in 2006. He was the first to score double century in ODI in 2010 against South Africa. He completed 100 international centuries with a century against Bangladesh in an Asia Cup encounter.
In December 2012, Tendulkar announced his retirement from ODIs. He retired from Twenty20 cricket in October 2013 and announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, on 16 November 2013 after playing his 200th and final Test match, against West Indies in his home ground Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
Tendulkar played a total of 664 international cricket matches, scoring 34,357 runs.
