Kolkata Knight Riders have stupefied Royale Challengers Bangalore in the 27th match of this season’s Indian Premier League (IPL) to brag the monumental win of 82 runs defending a low total just 131 at the prestigious Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
It was a puzzling show of batting and bowling for the two team’s supporters at the Eden – it was hard to believe for anyone watching that a batting line up that is comprised of a handful of modern day’s greatest performers like that of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB De Villiers were packed into a total of 49 runs.
Well, that has happened fairly enough on Sunday night; Royale Challengers Bangalore terribly failed to chase a petty total of 131 run accumulated by Kolkata Knight Riders after RCB captain Virat Kohli won the toss and sent them to bat first.
The total 49 runs is the lowest total ever scored by any team in the history of Indian Premier League. Not a single RCB batsmen could reach into the double figure mark by the time it seemed that the visiting team was going to an easy win after restricting KKR into 131.
Continuing his sensational run in this season’s IPL, this time Nathan Coulter – Nile proved himself unplayable even for the Royale Challengers Bangalore’s hot batting line – up.
The horrific downfall led by captain Virat Kohli himself – caught in the hands of Pandey in the first over of Nathan Coulter – Nile; it was indeed a golden duck for the vibrant Indian skipper.
In the second over, Mandeep Singh (1 run of 3 ball) followed Kohli, Pandey again caught another important catch, this occasion in the bowling of Umesh Yadav.
Nathan Coulter – Nile was back in the action in the next over picking up Royale Challengers Bangalore’s South African master hitter AB De Villiers scoring 8 with 2 shots of four.

With Kedar Jadhav in the middle to depart again became the third victim of Coulter – Nile, Chris Gayle survived up to the seventh over, scored a tenacious 7 runs playing 17 deliveries with a single boundary before Chris Woakes came into the attack and made Gayle the easy catch of Coulter – Nile; Coulter – Nile was in everywhere at Eden tonight!
Woakes uprooted Binny and Badree in his next overs and then Colin Grandhomme appeared into the exhibition.
Grandhomme bowled 1 over and another 4 deliveries to posses last 3 wickets of Royale Challengers Bangalore conceding 4 runs. In less than 10 overs of the innings, RCB was nowhere, bundled out scoring 49 runs, leaving a huge 82 runs victory for hot favorite Kolkata Knight Riders.
Earlier in the scene, Kolkata Knight Riders also faltered in their innings, restricted by RCB bowlers at the score 131 runs. Opener Sunil Narine scored highest 34 runs.
