‘It’s very expensive to host Bangladesh in UAE’

Former world champions Pakistan Cricket team are playing  their home bilateral series in United Arab Emirates after the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan Cricket team in their home soil during the year 2009. Since then they have hosted their home series against almost all the test playing nations in the Arab country apart from India and Bangladesh. The reason not to host India is understandable due to the political and national issue between both countries. But it very surprisingly Pakistan have never welcomed the Bengal Tigers to play bilateral series in UAE. Instead every time they tend to avoid the issue or show interest to organize the series with Bangladesh in their home soil despite they play with other nations in UAE.

Recently the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) explained the reason behind this decision. Mr. Shahriyar Khan, the chairman of the PCB said that it is very expensive for them to host Bangladesh in countries like UAE. That is why they had a meeting with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) few weeks back in which they proposed to host in Sri Lanka instead if UAE.

He said, “We tried to host a series against Bangladesh in Sri Lanka. But as the Sri Lanka had their own home series during that time we had to cancel that plan“.

Both the teams played their last bilateral series almost two years back in the year 2015, in Bangladesh. In which Pakistan won the two match test series by 1/0 but had to lost all the matches in three match one day series as well as the only twenty/20 match.
