Sanzamul confident to do well in seaming conditions

Sunzamul Islam was the new face of Bangladesh squad during their last ODI series against Sri Lanka. But unfortunately he couldn’t get to play a single match. Still he remained confident, and gained some self-confidence in him in his own away. And now he is looking to use them during the upcoming tri-nation series in Ireland, and then in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 in England and Wales. According to the left-arm spinner, the 10-day conditioning camp in Sussex prior to the Ireland tri-series will be very important. “We will hold a conditioning camp in England. He is currently playing for Abahani Limited in the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League (DPL). But his performance so far hasn’t been up to the mark, as he could take only two wickets in three outings. Still he is not much worried about his form, as according to him, “This is just a domestic league, and it won’t affect much during the international affairs.”
Sunzamul also talked about his experiences in Sri Lanka and about the fact that he was unused throughout the series. “Actually I didn’t get the chance because of team combination. But still by sitting at the dugout and practicing with the national players, I gained a lot of experiences. Previously I just had had the minimum idea how it is like to be in the national team, but during the tour in Sri Lanka tour I got the first-hand experiences and got to feel how it really is to be with the national team. I will try and use these experiences in future.”

Sunzamul also wants to contribute to the team’s cause with his spin in what it is expected to be seaming conditions in England, “The coach used to have me bowl in the net, and also bat. He talked to me about my shortcomings. Nothing more than that, because it was the first time he was seeing me. As far as the condition in England is concerned, i think the benefit is that you will have to be more focused. And if spinners can do well in seaming confidence, it’s like a major boost in their confidence. It’s also quite challenging. I have been picked for two very important series’, so my target will be to do something really well for the team.”
