On coming July, Pakistan will come to Bangladesh to play a T20I series. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will lead Bangladesh in this series. He has some bitter experience as a captain in some of the previous T20Is.

In 2009 and 2010 Bangladesh had been defeated under the leadership of Shakib Al Hasan in T20 internationals. The all-rounder has got the opportunity to lead the national team again after seven years.

Ashraful told, “Among those present in the current national team, Shakib is the best. After the announcement of Mashrafe’s retirement, it was understood that Shakib would be the T20I captain. He has no alternative in Bangladesh cricket right now.”

Shakib’s experience as a Test and ODI captain is very rich even if he led Bangladesh in only four matches in T-twenty. He captained the team in 49-matches in ODI series with a win in 23 matches.

There was not much success in the Test, only one in the nine matches won by his leadership. However, Ashraful is not giving any attention to these figures and added, “In my opinion, Shakib is more effective in T-Twenty. Considering the situation, there are three captains needed in three editions. But in future, maybe one captain in three formats will be seen and that will be Shakib. I think he will be the captain in three formats in a few days.”
