Mumbai Indians’ Jos Buttler has smashed his first half-century in Indian Premier League as his team beat Kings XI Punjab in a remarkable run-chase in Indore in match 22.

Mumbai required 199 runs to win after Hashim Amla’s devastating knock of 104* runs helped Punjab post 198/4. Mumbai need a quick start to their innings  to chase down the target.

England’s Buttler proved himself on the stage. He started the flury of runs since the first over was bowled. He and Parthiv Patel made 81-run partnership for the opening wicket in 5.5 overs.

Buttler brought up his half-century in 24 balls. He went on to score 77 runs from 37 deliveries at a strike rate of 208.10. His innings included 7 fours and 5 sixes.
