West Indies Test squad declared to face Pakistan

Although right-handed middle order batsman cum off-spinner Marlon Samuels and all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite has played much better than any other performers in the recent matches for West Indies, they have been left out from the playing eleven for the first Test match against Pakistan due to clash with West Indian cricket board.

West Indian selection committee has announced a 13 member squad for the upcoming series; the squad consists of two fresh blood – batsman Vishaul Singh and Simrom Hetmyer, opener Kieran Powell has also made his place in the squad.

27 years old Kieran Powell had played in 2014 lastly then tried to be a Baseball player in the United States; failed to be successful over there, Powell has came back to cricket.

Hetmyer is 20 years old, led West Indian under – 19 side in the under 19 World cup that held inn Bangladesh.

28 years old Vishaul has been playing for a long time in the West Indian domestic cricket. All the three left handed batsmen has displayed their best performance in the preparation match against Pakistan in Jamaica that helped them to be a part of Test match playing eleven.

In first match Vishaul scored unbeaten 135 run and Hetmyer did 97 run, Powell also scored 58 in 1st match and unbeaten 84 in the second one.

Left handed batsman Leon Johnson and right one Jomel Warrican has also been kicked from the declared Test team; the first match of the series will start in coming Friday at Jamaica.
