In terms of the number of ODI matches won against top 8 teams since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand, Bangladesh are the best team in Asia.

Of 20 matches in last two years since the World Cup down under, Bangladesh have won 10 matches which keep the at the peak, and even ahead of the Asian giants India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Overall they are in the 5th position.

During this period of time, India have won 9 matches and lost 12 matches out of total 21 matches. On the other hand, Pakistan have lost 18 matches and won only 6 out of 24 matches. Of 28 matches, Sri Lanka have won just 5 and lost 19.

South Africa are the best team in the world in terms of matches won, as they played 35 matches, won 23 and lost 11. England are at two, as they have played 36 matches, won 21 and lost 13. Australia are placed third, having played 36 matches, won 20 and lost 15. New Zealand are the next team, having won 20 and lost 17 out of 38 matches.

Thanks to Bangladesh’s superb performance in last two years, they are now the sixth team in the world in ICC ODI Team Rankings, and they are also ahead of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and West Indies to directly qualify for the next ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019.
