Bangladesh face Pakistan in first warm-up

BCB choses SL to face Pakistan and HP team to tour Pakistan

The last time Bangladesh and Pakistan faced each other in ODIs, it was Bangladesh all the way. The Tigers whitewashed the Men in Green by 3-0 back in April, 2015. So that memory will be relive once again on May 27 (Saturday) when these two teams will once again lock horns in a 50-over match, though not an official affair this time, but just a warm-up match ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Prior to the tournament proper, each team will get to play two warm-up matches against the participating teams who are not in the same group. As a result, for Bangladesh and Pakistan are in two different groups, they are going to play in the warm-up match. Bangladesh’s other warm-up match will be against India on May 30.

Though Bangladesh’s second warm-up match against India will be telecast live on the Star Sports Network, official broadcasters of the ICC major events till 2023, the match against Pakistan will not be a televised one.

Bangladesh are going into the warm-up match against Pakistan with fresh memory of beating New Zealand in Ireland tri-series by 5 wickets just two days ago. Bangladesh will be favourites to beat Pakistan as well, for this is a totally inexperienced side and also for the fact that Bangladesh are currently ranked sicth team in the world while Pakistan are only at No.8.

There will be at least one change for sure in Bangladesh’s playing XI from the last match against New Zealand. Nasir Hossain played that match but he is not in the Champions Trophy squad, so he is likely to be replaced by either Mehedi Hasan Miraz or Sunzamul Islam.

Bangladesh probable XI: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Mehedi Hasan Miraz, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Taskin Ahmed, Rubel Hossain.
