They may not be as experienced as the other players were but still they impressed everyone with their bowling talent in the Robi spinner hunt. Talking about three extremely talented kids Rayhan Khan, Yeasin Chisti and Naimur Rahman Durjoy, who are only 12-13 year-old.
A few days back the Bangladesh Cricket Board arranged for a spin bowler hunt in cooperation of private mobile operator Robi. These three cricketers were selected from the bowling hunt and now have joined BCB’s practice.
These three young boys are now over the moon after being selected among the lucky 19 cricketers.
“I had bowled to some national players including Omi bhai (Jahurul Islam) and they liked my bowling. Then they bought me shoes and also told me to ask them for anything I needed. My brother Arif bhai helped me a lot as he taught me cricket,” said young Naimur Rahman Durjoy.
“About four years ago I saw Shane Warne’s bowling video on youtube. I was very impressed by his bowling and so I decided to be a cricketer like him. I even tried his googly in the practice,” said 12-year old Rayhan Khan.
“I have learnt a lot of things from this practice camp. As example I have learnt how to bowl leg spin properly, how to deliver the balls in the perfect spot and so many other important techniques,” said Yeasin Chisti.
However, the main reason behind their inclusion in the practice camp was to encourage other young players. The man who was behind their inclusion explained that to the media.
“We picked them to encourage other same aged leg spinners because when they would see them coming in the camp they would be encouraged. Other than that, these three boys are very talented. As they are very young aged now, we are teaching them only the basics of leg-spin. After the camp is ended, we will talk to their district level coach and they will work with them according to our guidelines,” coach Wahidul Islam Gony told Maachranga Television.
