Bangladesh get emphatic victory over Ireland

Bangladesh get their first victory in the Tri-nation series by thrashing the host Ireland. Today, Mashrafe and his co beat Ireland comprehensively by 8 wickets.

After losing toss, Ireland were asked to bat first at Malahide CrickeT Ground, Dublin. Irish batsmen did not show their class against Bangladeshi bowlers and got all-out in just 46.3 overs by scoring 181 runs.

Ed Joyce who returned to the squad against Bangladesh, recovering from injury had scored highest 46 runs for the Ireland. Alongside him Niall O’Brien scored vital 30 runs for the home side. None of the other batsmen could not able to hold the flow for the host except Porterfield’s 22 and Dockrell’s 25.

Meanwhile, Bangladeshi bowlers shown their best efforts and restricted Ireland to 181. Mustafizur Rahman grabbed highest 4 wickets by giving 23 runs from his 9 overs, while Mashrafe and debutant Sunzamul picked up two wickets respectively. Apart them, Mosaddek and Shakib took one wicket each.

In reply of Ireland’s innings, Tamim Iqbal and Soumya Sarkar gave Bangladesh a flying start. They added 95 runs in just 13.5 overs. Although Tamim missed the opportunity to bring up half-century by getting out on 47, Soumya Sarkar brought up his back to back half-century and remain unbeaten till securing victory. Sabbir Rahman scored 35 off 34 balls and got out when Bangladesh were just 12 runs away from the victory. Then Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim took the Tigers towards the landmark. Soumya scored quick firing unbeaten 87 runs off 68 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes.

After this victory Bangladesh secure second place with 6 points. On the other hand, home side Ireland are at the bottom of the table.
