BCB boss didn't want Mustafiz to play

Bangladesh lost their first ICC Champions Trophy 2017 practice match against Pakistan after a nail-biting finish, on Saturday. Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman did not play the match and the reason was the BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon. The BCB boss has told the media today that he didn not want Mustafiz to play the match. So the Fizz didn not play the match against Pakistan.

However, Nazmul Hasan also explained the reason why he did not want Mustafiz to play the match. According to him, Mustafiz needs a break before the big clash against England in the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, on June 1 and that’s why decided to give the young bowler a break.

“I did not want Mustafiz to play today (Saturday). This boy has been playing all the matches,” Nazmul Hassan Papon told the media on Sunday

The 21-year sensational pacer is a proven performer in death overs and he is considered as the main weapon for Bangladesh team in the upcoming Champions Trophy.

Apart from Mustafiz, another key bowler of the side, Rubel Hossain also didn’t play in that match. The two bowlers were hugely missed in that match as the result could have been different if they had played the match.
