After much brain work upon slinging a new domestic T20 tournament for a long time, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Sourav Ganguly, at last, has announced that the inaugural Bengal Premier T20 League will be held in December consisting of six teams primarily.
The venues will be Eden Gardens, Jadavpur University second campus in Salt lake and a third ground in the district. Apart from the local players, top cricketers around India will take part in the tournament.
According to Board’s rule, foreign performers are not allowed to take part in the tournament but a provision has been included of taking three cricketers from outside Bengal.
CAB President Sourav Ganguly also informed of arranging floodlights to all the grounds where the tournament would be scheduled to take place.
The auction for the Bengal Premier T20 League will be held in later part of August. Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has been conceptualizing a compact domestic T20 tournament since the beginning of his taking of the power of Cricket Association of Bengal.
