Succeeding the success run of arranging PSL final in the homeland, Pakistan cricket authority is now bearing higher hopes of returning more matches in Pakistan.
Najam Sethi, the Pakistan Super League Chairman reportedly revealed that eight matches in the next edition of PSL will be played in Pakistan. Four matches of the third season of PSL will likely to be held in Lahore and four in Karachi.
“This time around we are going to hold eight matches in Pakistan. Two doubleheaders will take place in Karachi and two doubleheaders will take place in Lahore” – Sethi, who is likely to be approved as the new PCB Chief told to Express Tribune.
“All players featuring in the third edition of the PSL will be obliged to play in Pakistan. It will be part of their contract that they will be playing here” – he said.
The probability of including a sixth franchise was also mentioned by Najam Sethi. Approximately thirty national and international parties have expressed their interest in buying the sixth franchise.
In the recently concluded Annual General Meeting of Pakistan, a recommendation has been made to honor Najam Sethi with ‘Pride of Performance’ award by Pakistan Government for his contribution to Pakistan cricket.
