By the time country is passing through intense heatwaves accompanied by high level of humidity, cricketers are playing in the domestic leagues under the sun. As the condition is getting quite unbearable, former cricketers urge for not scheduling the domestic feature in this time of the year.
Former national team manager Khaled Mahmud Shujon has suggested to arrange domestic matches during winter instead of the mid of the year.
“I always say Dhaka League are the center of cricket in Bangladesh. I want it to be scheduled in cool weather. We have now a busy calendar all through the year. We didn’t have tournaments like BCL and BPL earlier that are literally back stepping the Dhaka League. But we will think of it soon whenever we will sit to adjust the calendar” – Khaled Mahmud said.
Former national team wicket keeper batsman Khaled Masud Pilot also yearned for not arranging domestic matches in hot weather saying, “Cricket is not to be played in this heat.”
The Prime Bank coach reckoned Premier League is the breeding ground for all cricketers on the national team pipe line. Cricketers who once thrown out of the national team try to prove themselves here as well.
Arranging such an important tournament amidst inclement weather condition because physical risks to cricketers.
The Super Six round of the ongoing Dhaka Premier League is going to start from coming Wednesday.
