The Mashrafe Bin Mortaza-led side is going into the match with fresh memory of success in the Ireland tri-nation series where they handed New Zealand a 5-wicket defeat to move up to No.6 in the ICC ODI Team Rankings.

And another big plus of the series was Mustafizur Rahman’s return to form. Playing 4 matches, Mustafizur got to bowl in three of them, and topped among the Bangladeshi bowlers with 7 wickets to his name, including one four-wicket haul against Ireland.

However, the Bangladesh leader Mashrafe believes that the best of Mustafizur is yet to come, and that he will showcase it during the tournament proper.

“We are not banking on just one bowler only. But yeah, Mustafizur has been doing very well for last couple of years. He has made a great comeback after the long lay-off due to injury. In future, he will show more great things with the ball.”

Mashrafe was also very happy about Bangladesh’s promotion to No.6 in the rankings, but also added that he was looking to make things even more glorious.

“Rising to No.6 in the rankings is of great pleasure for us. The team is very happy. But we want to move forward from here. We want to rise as much as possible.

“This tournament is going to be real hard for us. We are in a tough group. But anything can happen if the day belongs to us. We have those kinds of quality players who have the ability to turn the match on its head.

“We just need to play as a team, something that we have been doing lately,” concluded the Narail Express.
