Home side Ireland have made just one change from their last tour of England. Simi Singh has replaced Andy McBrine and received his maiden call in the ODI squad of Ireland.
The 30 year-old Simi Singh was born in Punjab and traveled to Ireland in a vision to play international cricket for Ireland. After getting the citizenship in last month, his dream finally comes fulfill. Ireland Head Coach John Bracewell feels Simi Singh’s extra-ordinary skills helps to get call-up in Ireland cricket team’s squad.
Bracewell told, “I’ve been impressed by his quality with both bat and ball. He is an intelligent cricketer who can adapt to all situations depending on the match situation. He strikes the ball very cleanly, has good technique, and scores all round the wicket.”
To be noted, tri-nation series will go underway from 12 May with the clash of host Ireland and visiting Bangladesh. They will play they their second match on next Sunday against the another opponent of the series- New Zealand.
