After the announcement, the upcoming Titans coach has said that he is excited to be a part of the team as head coach.
“BPL is an exciting tournament for Bangladesh, as well the region as a whole, and I am excited to be partnering with one of the most respected and forward-thinking franchises, Khulna Titans, in the league,” said Jayawardena.
The 39-year old former Sri Lankan cricketer took part in all of the previous season of the tournament and that experience he thinks would help him to do well as a coach this year.
“I enjoyed playing in the BPL last year and that has given me a great insight into what will be required to be successful in the 2017 tournament,” the former Sri Lanka captain added.
To be noted, Khulna Titans in its maiden appearance in Bangladesh Premiere League (BPL) last year, had reached the semi-final of the tournament finishing second in the league phase with 14 points and then ended third in the tournament. Former Australia cricketer Stuart Law was the head coach of the side in that season.
