Kolkata Knight Riders registered a comprehensive six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to keep themselves in the hunt for a place in playoffs.

Thanks to Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn’s whirlwind at the top, Knight Riders reached the target in 15.1 overs. Narine scored joint fastest fifty of Indian Premier League to help his side pick an important win. Knight Riders’ decision to open with Narine and Lynn proved to be a productive one.

The duo pummelled RCB bowlers all around the park to notch up 105 inside six overs. KKR became the second team in IPL history after Chennai Super Kings to score hundred runs in the powerplay. Not only this Narine slammed a 15-ball fifty to take the game away from already struggling RCB. It was Narine’s first half-century in T20 cricket. Interestingly, Narine equalled his teammate Yusuf Pathan’s record of 15-ball fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014.
