Magician Nasir expands his average to 421

 

National discarded all-rounder Nasir Hossain has once again produced a sparkling performance both with the bat and ball. Nasir, who returned home last week following the tri-nation series in Ireland, took two wickets with the bat in the match against Prime Bank before scoring an unbeaten victory to lead his team Gazi Group Cricketers to victory. The match between Gazi Group Cricketers and Prime Bank Cricket Club actually began yesterday (Tuesday), but due to rain the match was curtailed down to 43 overs and the remainder of the match took place on Wednesday. Thanks to Nasir Hossain’s two wickets alongside pacer Abu Haider Rony’s three and Suhrawordy Shuvo’s two, Prime Bank were all-out for just 173 runs off 38.4 overs.

In response, Nasir remained unbeaten on 61 off 64 balls with the help of 9 boundaries while opener Anamul Haque Bijoy made a solid 45 as Gazi Group sailed to victory with five wickets to spare. Nadif Chowdhury was not out alongside Nasir on 18 runs.

‘The Finisher’ Nasir was awarded Man of the Match for his superb all-round performance, He had also won the award in the previous match of his team for smashing a scintillating century against Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club. In that match, Nasir had scored 134 runs before retiring hurt off just 113 balls. His innings had featured 7 fours and 6 sixes, and his team had won the match by a huge margin of 177 runs.

Nasir so far has scored 421 runs in six matches with getting out just for once, and hence he now has a remarkable average of 421.00.
