As the holy month is happening during the summer in England, Muslims will be fasting for around 19 hours.
In the past we have seen a lot of cricketers were fasting while playing a cricket match such as Hashim Amla, Moeen Ali, Shahid Afridi and Mushfiqur Rahim. Recently in an interview, England cricketer has said he will be fasting during the upcoming Champions Trophy.
“I have to make sure I am hydrated before I begin my fast. My schedule does not change too much but I have to make sure I get a good sleep before the match,” Talking to BBC Moeen Ali said.
In the meantime, the inform English all-rounder also informed that he has been fasting during Ramadan since a long time and he thinks it is more mental thing than physical. So it would not be a problem for him at all.
“I have been doing it for a very long time so I am not worried about it. I am used to it and it is more a mental than physical thing,” he concluded.
