The wonder kid Mustafizur Rahman has continued his progress in the ICC ODI bowler’s rankings as he climbed up to the 15th place in the latest rankings released on Tuesday (May 30) following the completion of the three-match ODI series between South Africa and England. The cutter master now has 600 rating points to his credit, and is just one point behind his skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, who moved one spot up to 14th place.
Mustafizur took as many as seven wickets in the tri-series in Ireland, including a haul of four wickets against the hosts. Mashrafe meanwhile, took six wickets in the same series.
Shakib Al Hasan also moved up one place, to 9th, displacing New Zealand’s Matt Henry, who moved to 11th, with Mitchell Santner coming in at 10th. The left-hander also remains the best all-rounder in the world in ODIs.
Bangladesh will begin their ICC Champions Trophy 2017 campaign on June 1 with the match against hosts England at The Oval in London in the tournament opener.
