A big blow for Mustafizur Rahman’s IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad before the start of the qualifier round of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as one of the key fast bowlers of the side, Ashish Nehra has been ruled out of the rest of the matches of the tournament .
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s head coach Tom Moody confirmed the news during an interaction on the eve of the IPL eliminator clash between Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chinnaswamy stadium, on Tuesday.
“Ashish Nehra won’t be fit for remainder of the tournament,” Tom Moody said.
Earlier the experienced left-arm pacer, had suffered a hamstring injury during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s match against Rising Pune Supergiant on May 6 and has failed to recover.
The 36-year-old fast bowler has played just six games for the Sunrisers Hyderabad this season thus far, picking up seven wickets at an average of 24.62. He has always been injury-prone as he was featured in only 8 of the 17 fixtures last season.
However, defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad has already found a talented fast bowler named Mohammad Siraj in their side. He won the Man of the Match award in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s must-win match against Gujarat Lions to qualify for playoffs after picking up four important wickets.
