Pakistan end day 3 in a strong position

Azhar Ali celebrates a wicketLeg spinner Yasir Shah had struck thrice in the first session as Pakistan batted themselves into a strong position on the third day of the third and deciding Test of the series, which is tied at 1-1 between West Indies and Pakistan.

In the morning session, Kraigg Brathwaite played out a slow and careful inning with the bat as he scored 29, having played 123 deliveries and hitting only one boundary. His innings could be even longer but Yasir Shah’s brilliant bowling forced him to go back to the pavilion.

Middle-order batsman Roston Chase was excellent for his 60 but had to leave the field after being hit on the forearm by a bouncer from sensational fast bowler Mohammad Amir. The other batsmen rallied around him, meaning that West Indies survive the day and will go into Day 4 with hopes of a lead.
