Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Chief Selector Inzamam – ul – Haque remarked around their target in the oncoming ICC Champions Trophy which is not only to defeat India but also capture the coveted title.
Pakistan will lock horns with their arch rival India in their very first match of the tournament on June 4 in Birmingham, England.
As quoted by the Dawn, Inzamam said, “We are not going to England just to beat India but our prime target is to win the championship.”
Recollecting the win against India in 2004 edition of the Champions Trophy under his captaincy in the same ground, Inzamam – ul – Haque said, “We can win again.”
The former captain reckoned the win in the Caribbean is a morale booster for the team and the team is buzzing in confidence for the upcoming big event.
So far, Pakistan won 2 matches against India in the Champions Trophy besides India winning one but in limited over World Cup and T20 World Cup, India won 10 out of total 11 contests.
