'Could play the last series only for my wife' says Misbah - ul - Haque Pakistan’s retiring Test captain Misbah – ul – Haque, in his farewell speech from the field, ushered special thanks to his wife and his middle order partner Younis Khan who also keep off his gloves with him.

The 42 year old mythos ended his international career emphatically leading Pakistan to a 101 run victory in the third and final Test of series against West Indies at Windsor Park in Dominica.

Opening the note thanking Almighty for the fabulous journey, Misbah – ul – Haque said, “I would like to thank Almighty Allah, whatever I had, whatever success I got through my career, to end like that, I couldn’t have asked for anything better.”

Misbah mentioned about his wife who told him to play the series in West Indies before retiring, thanked whole heartedly in his speech, “Then I would like to thank my family, my mother, my sisters and specially to my wife Uzma who supported me and was always there. The series was only for her because I could have finished in Australia. She just convinced me and the fans that I have to come.”

“And this team, too, most of the players said, ‘You don’t have to end like that. You have to go winning and performing like well” – Misbah – ul – Haque said.

Misbah scored 5222 runs in 75 Tests with 10 hundreds and 39 half centuries. In one day international, he scored 5122 runs with 42 fifties.

39 year old Younis Khan also announced his retirement from international cricket along with Misbah – ul – Haque.
