Pressure will be on England: Mashrafe

Ahead of Bangladesh’s opening match in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against England on Thursday (June 1), Tigers skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza claimed that the pressure will be more on the hosts than Bangladesh. [বাংলায় পড়ুন: ইংল্যান্ডের বিপক্ষে বাংলাদেশের সেরা একাদশ]

Though Bangladesh were crushed by India just two days ago in the warm-up match, Mashrafe said they would take the field in ‘relaxed mood’.

“No, I am not saying we will beat England for sure. But the thing is, now we have the ability to beat any team. But for that, we need to have a good start. Provided we get that, we will be in a position from where we can expect for a victory.

“As this is the first match of the tournament, both teams will be under pressure. But if you think deeply, you will understand that the pressure will be more on England. Because they are the team playing in front of their home crowd, and will be hoping to win the title,” said Mashrafe.
