Raqibul Hasan has been in great from in the ongoing Dhaka Premier league (DPL). He is scoring with a lot of consistency this season. But what he did today with the bat in BKSP was exceptional.
Tamim Iqbal had the two highest scores in list- a cricket among Bangladeshi batsman. Raqibul Hasan has now broke that record of the left handed opener by scoring a massive ton. The former national team cricketer scored 190 runs in the Dhaka derby between two rivals Abahani and Mohammedan. But unluckily missed out to score a double hundred by only ten runs. None of the Bangladeshi cricketer had earlier scored even 160. But the right handed elegant batsman reached the score of 190 during the 49th over of their innings. He went out in the next over getting caught out, as a result was not able to make use of the golden opporunity to score the first ever double hundred in list A cricket by a Bangladeshi.
Raqibul during his memorable knock of 170 stroked 17 fours and 10 sixes. He remained only a six short of the record number of sixes in a match, which was scored by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. Whereas it was his fifth hundred in the league, his previous best was 133.
Tamim Iqbal earlier this season scored 157 runs in the league. Which was then the highest score before Raqibul Hasan scored his ton today. The right handed batsman was last seen during the 2011 to play for the Bangladesh cricket team.
