Ahead of his team’s warm-up match against Bangladesh on Saturday (May 27), Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed said he is wary of the Tigers. According to the Pakistan captain, both the teams will be hungry to pick up a win from the match and have some good preparation going into the ICC Champions Trophy 2017, which will make the encounter a very challenging one for either side. “Bangladesh have been on a rampage and playing consistently for last one and a half years or so. Now this is a very good opportunity for both the teams to have some good preparation,” he said.
Bangladesh will be the top favourites to win the match. The Tigers are now ranked sixth team in the world, while Pakistan are at 8. Besides Bangladesh have just handed New Zealand a 5-wicket defeat a couple of defeat, for which they have the momentum in their hands.
The last time Bangladesh played against Pakistan in 50-over cricket, they whitewashed the Men in Green 3-0 in April, 2015.
Meanwhile Sarfraz was also quite concerned about batsmen like Tamim Iqbal, as he said: “They (Bangladesh) have done very good lately. When we play them, we will get to see batsman like Tamim Iqbal. But still, if we could play the semifinals!”
