Shahid Afridi to make a T20 comeback Pakistan’s splashy hard hitter Shahid Khan Afridi to be going to begin his third spell of English county T20 cricket and is all set to join in Hampshire.

Giles White, Hampshire’s Director of Cricket quoted by ESPN Cricinfo, “He’s been an important part of our success in the short time of the game in previous seasons and we feel his talents fit well with the current squad.”

“He’s come off the back of a very good Pakistan Super League, certainly with the bat, which bodes well. Obviously with the ball he has shown his quality over the years and hopefully he remains the high – quality all – rounder that we expect” – Giles White farther said.

“He forms a very good partnership with Liam Dawson and being an all – rounder gives us the option of playing an extra bowler may be a Crane as a trio of spinners” – White said.

The 37 year old is also a highly effective leg spinner possessing a good international record taking 97 wickets in 98 international T20I matches.

In 2011 semi – final tie between Hampshire and Somerset, Shahid Afridi hit 80 off 42 balls in the super – over.

Shahid Afridi, a veteran of 398 one day internationals along with 27 Test matches and 98 T20 matches, retired from international cricket not so long ago.
